Today I am thankful...

For students that miss me when I'm gone for a few days

For excellent movies

For letters [and misspelled names]

For rest

For vacations with my favorite girls

That I get to go to cool conferences like this one because of my job

And that because of Jesus' death, the grave has lost all its power.

 - We're watching this science video with Edward Norton as the narrator and one of my kids looks at me and says, did you know the Incredible Hulk is in your video?

- Miss Ferren, you smell real good... Like, I'm for real, you smell like roses or somethin'.

- Girl in my class: You ever cheat on any a' yo boyfrens Miss Ferren?
  Me: (definitely caught off guard by the question) um, no.
  Girl in my class: It's not like it's a big deal, ain't like he gonna do nothin'.
  Still not sure exactly what she mean by that...

-A kid wrote "Mrs. (Insert his last name)" all over the paper he turned in to me. Flattering, except that you're 17 and in jail...
